Tigre de Bengala is a standout from La Guardia De La Luzs 2024 EP Paranormal which now gets a single release next to remixes by Balearic Dreamers Coyote and Norwegian producer Sommerfeldt. The original is a brilliantly off-balance and dubbed-out cut that is low-slung and pairs erotic vocal whispers with melancholic pianos for a dramatic sound. First up to remix is the Is It Balearic? Recordings founders Coyote who have previously remixed the likes of Calm on this label. Their take smooths things out to more serene and spiritual worlds lit up by distant starry twinkles and smooth claps that persuade the hips to sway. Then comes Sommerfeldt, an Oslo mainstay and Full Pupp, badabing diskos and Paper Recordings associate. His remix works the body with deep, rolling kicks while seducing the mind with undulating synth lines and a subtle sense of tension. These three alternative dance floor trips offer cultured explorations of the cosmic unknown.
